Towngate personnel are currently recruiting a pastry chef for a modern, funky, boutique hotel with an excellent reputation situated in the heart of the stunning Cotswold countryside. The Hotel is situated just a short drive from Cheltenham and Gloucester and has excellent public transport links. 
The Hotel has around 30 bedrooms but has a high diner ratio. The restaurant regularly serves around 70 covers for evening service and around 40 for lunch. The Hotel is also a popular destination for walk ins looking for afternoon tea or al fresco dining in the grounds.
The Hotel also has an award winning spa and caters for many guests on spa packages who eat within the restaurant before or after treatments.
The food is a 2 rosette standard and everything is cooked from scratch. The team is led by a very well known, well regarded, head chef.
We are looking for a pastry chef to work within a small team and assist with the preparation of cakes, breads and ice creams.
You will also assist with menu development and will work very closely with the head chef and the other members of the pastry team.
Ideal candidates for the role:
  • Will have experience as a Pastry Chef within a good quality hotel or restaurant
  • You will have a genuine passion for good quality fresh ingredients
  • You will work well under pressure
  • You will be happy working a mixture of straight and split shifts
Benefits on offer:
  • There is a salary on offer of up to £25,000
  • Overtime is paid if you work more than 45 hours a week
  • All staff receive a share of tips (around £100 a month)
  • The shifts are mainly straights
